Community Partners
Our community partners keep the Consortium abreast of student needs and gaps in programming and resources. From mental health services to adult education classes, each community partner provides invaluable services to the residents of Long Beach. A list of our partners, along with a description of the services and resources offered, is provided below. Please visit their pages for an in-depth look into their programs.

American Indian Changing Spirits
American Indian Changing Spirits’ Mission is to provide culturally relevant, community-based outreach and education, with evidence-based recovery programing focused on American Indians who suffer from drug & alcohol addiction and/or dependency.
Bobbie Smith YMCA Community School

California Mentor Long Beach provides educational and vocational services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities build increasingly rich, independent lives. They specialize in creating individualized programs that combine personal choice and community integration with professional oversight, family involvement, and stability.
Centro CHA, Inc.

Century Villages at Cabrillo
Century Villages at Cabrillo (CVC) is a supportive housing community established to break the cycle of homelessness. More than simply providing shelter, CVS provides residents with case management services, life skills training, substance abuse treatment, and much more.
Conservation Corps of Long Beach
Conservation Corps of Long Beach helps young adults reach their full potential through work, service, conservation and education, while enhancing the community through environmental stewardship and beautification projects.
CSULB Educational Opportunity Center
The Educational Opportunity Center at Cal State Long Beach is designed to identify and assist adult participants who want to enter, re-enter, continue or enroll in a program of postsecondary education. Services offered include academic advisement, career transitioning and referrals to job training programs.
Department of Rehabilitation
The Department of Rehabilitation services are designed to help job seekers with disabilities obtain competitive employment in integrated work settings. Independent living services may include peer support, skill development, systems advocacy, referrals, assistive technology services, transition services, housing assistance, and personal assistance. services.
Disabled Resources Center
The Disabled Resources Center empowers people with disabilities to live independently in the community, to make their own decisions about their lives and to advocate on their own behalf.
Goodwill of Southern Los Angeles County
Offering skills training, education, job preparation and placement programs that build lives, families and the community—one job at a time. Goodwill Southern Los Angeles County (SOLAC) recently partnered with Long Beach City College to host free, adult education classes for the community. View schedule of classes.
Harbor Regional Center
Individuals with developmental disabilities and their families rely on Harbor Regional Center for individual and family service planning, supportive services and referrals to valuable community resources.

Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program that helps young people ages 16 to 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training.
Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine
Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine operates 170 parks, 26 community centers and hosts hundreds of recreation classes and programs for youth, adults and seniors in Long Beach.
Long Beach Rescue Mission

The mission of LBSA is to provide educational opportunities that empower a diverse population of adults to be productive citizens in an ever-changing society. Mental Health America of Los Angeles
Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) works to ensure that people living with mental health needs achieve meaningful, healthy lives in their communities. Employment and vocational services are provided, as well as housing, benefits, income services, and life skills.
Pacific Gateway
Providing career development services, job search assistance and training scholarships, Pacific Gateway helps residents of Long Beach secure employment, prepare for the workforce, and explore future career options.
The Michelle Obama Long Beach Public Library
